How We’re Funded

Our pilot program was made possible thanks to the generous support of Mangaroa Farms, the Lottery Grants Board, and COGS funding. Their belief in our vision helped us prove what’s possible when young people are given purpose, space, and trust.

To work safely and effectively with high-energy youth, we’ve kept our student-to-facilitator ratio low—just six students per mentor. This ensures the depth of support, relationship, and attention these rangatahi deserve.

Our current group is covered by initial funding, but to grow—expanding into new schools, more regions, and more days—we need ongoing support.

Invest in under-supported leadership talent

We’re now seeking patrons and partners who want to underwrite the cost of a child’s place in the program. It costs $60 per week or $3,120 per year to sponsor a student. These are often the young people whose families can’t afford tuition—but who benefit the most from this kind of support.

Every dollar you contribute helps us reach the kids who need it most—and the impact ripples outward. For every $1 invested in a young person like this, research shows we save around $15 in downstream costs through reduced justice, health, and education intervention.
